Television
Singaporean TV offers programmes in all main languages but generally, you can get most of the English-language shows on Channel 5 & 12. For Chinese programmes, Channel 8 is it.

 

Radio
Several radio stations can be accessed and again the programmes are in the 4 languages - Malay, Mandarin, Tamil and English. BBC can be heard on 88.9 FM.

 

Newspapers
Dailies are The Straits Times and Business Times. The New Paper is an afternoon tabloid.
The Sunday Times is available on Sundays.
The other dailies are in Chinese, Malay and Tamil.

 

Postal Service
All postal and related services available, including 'post restante'.
The General Post Office on Fullerton Road is open 24 hours.
There are branches in the city centre as well as Changi Airport.

Normal business hours are:
8 am - 5 pm (Mon-Fri)
8 am - 2 pm (Sat)
Closed on Sunday & public holidays.

 

Telephone
All post offices have IDD facilities. You can also make international calls from public phones. Most of the phones are equipped to take credit card calls. Phonecards are the other option and they are available in denominations of up to S$50.
